All third grade students will participate in a Mock MCAS experience on Wednesday. The exercise will give students the opportunity to see the room layout, practice snack and bathroom routines, and gauge the length of the test session. Students are familiar with a variety of test-taking strategies and will have the opportunity to use their knowledge to successfully complete two reading selections - one with multiple choice questions and two short responses, the other with multiple choice questions and an open response. This exercise takes the mystery out of the MCAS and makes the actual MCAS testing less intimidating for the students. Please follow-up with your son/daughter about their impressions and let me know if there are any remaining questions or concerns to be addressed before March 20th.
