We are working our way through chapter one in Math In Focus, our new math series. Students are learning to read and write numbers to 1,000. The students are asked to identify and write several forms of the numbers.
standard form: 231
expanded form: 231 = 200 + 30 + 1
word form: two hundred thirty-one
We are also learning to compare numbers to 1,000. We are using the terms and symbols:
greater than >
less than <
more than
and answer comparative statements to determine if they are true or false.
